Oceanic Power

Installation, salt waters, electronic circuit, glass jars, soil, moss, sands, rocks, charcoal, microorganisms, acrylic on wall (variable dimension), 2022

Inspired by Nyi Roro Kidul, a myth that believed by the society of Southern coast of Java island as a matriarchal figure who has a power and became a ruler of this ocean territory, this work came with a presentation of pseudoscience of developing a self sustainable cycle and in making energy from salty water. This installation attempts to transmit those mythological context into scientific presentation, from the mystical reality to technological exploration that are speculatively bringing other possibilities in understanding ancient knowledge.
